The XM343 Standoff Activated Volcano Obstacle (SAVO) provides a policy compliant interim capability to address the Army's directed close tactical obstacle capability gap.
- SAVO provides an interface between fielded wired and wireless initiation systems and fielded munitions.
- SAVO can block, turn, fix and disrupt enemy formations in accordance with the commander's ground tactical plan.
- If the emplaced obstacle is not initiated, SAVO can be recovered for future re-deployment.
